Socialization

"Human beings are socialized animals"

When a child is born in a society, it is yet to socialized by the social institutions. A Child with it instincts alone would grow up as an animal than as human. The process of socialization is to make the child follow the norms and promote the values which are in existent in the society. As the child grow up to an adult in the society, the level of socialization increases. The process of such socialization is done by three important social institutions:
    • Educational Institutions
    • Health Care Institutions
    • Family
Family is a very important institution. Any new born would naturally get into a family. The unlucky one find themselves abandoned. But this is a different story. Now, we shall have the assumption that every human born gets into a family to which they belong. The family provide basic care and satisfaction of the needs. They help in development of basic traits of the person.

The other institutions takes the process of socialization further. The Education helps in promoting norms and values of the society and Health care institution builds an healthy and sound society. Education promotes any skill that a person must acquire to make a living upon the norms established by the society. If any one of these social institution fails, then process of socialization fails.

All the institutions are inter-dependent on each other. Failure of any one institution to function in the society will lead to domino effect. The scaffolding upon which the society stands crumble in no time. To ensure proper socialization, government are entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining these institutions.
